REGINALD BOATENG
ACRIMONY - BOUNDLESS PASSAGE
#ARTIST214 | GHANAIAN
Reginald Boateng is a visual artist and photographer based in Accra, Ghana. His creative journey began in 2019 when, shortly after high school, he received an iPhone 6s Plus from his father. What started as a hobby, capturing everyday moments and editing them on his phone, soon evolved into a powerful artistic practice rooted in concept, color, and cultural identity.
Reginald’s work explores the emotional language of colour. Influenced by the bold patterns and hues of Kente, a traditional Ghanaian woven fabric, his compositions celebrate African culture while experimenting with the theory of colour, storytelling, and visual harmony. Often using mobile photography as his tool of choice.
His work has been featured by Apple, The Guardian, and Prazzle Magazine, and exhibited at Calabar Gallery in New York, CFAO Ghana, British Council Ghana, The Cowrie Culture, and the Nubuke Foundation, among others.
