DREAM

#ARTIST262 | BOLIVIAN

Mayte Bejar is a Bolivian artist who finds her most authentic language through collage. Her work emerges from an inner need to give form to imagined worlds, where surreal landscapes, symbolic figures, and dreamlike creatures coexist. Each piece acts as a bridge between the intimate and the fantastical, creating spaces where emotion, mysticism, and imagination intertwine.

Using collage as her primary medium, Mayte transforms existing images into new visual universes. Her practice explores fluid identities, reinvented bodies, and shifting environments that move between the cosmic and the spiritual. Delicate yet powerful, her compositions balance sensitivity with experimentation, inviting viewers into narratives that feel both deeply personal and otherworldly.

Her artistic journey includes exhibitions in Bolivia and internationally, alongside collaborations with media and brands. She has shown work at cultural spaces such as Casa Melchor Pinto, Espacio CaCa, Kiosko Galería, Alianza Francesa, Espacio Infinito, and Manzana 1. Mayte was also selected for the Third Pictoline Illustration Biennial, marking a significant recognition of her evolving practice within contemporary visual culture.
