Gilbert Álvarez is a digital artist from Costa Rica, currently based in Antigua, Guatemala. A graduate of the Digital Animation programme at Véritas University, Gilbert works across illustration, concept art and character design, developing imaginative worlds that blend storytelling, symbolism and spirituality.
His work is characterised by vibrant colour palettes, surreal compositions and richly detailed characters that feel both playful and mythological. Drawing inspiration from dreamlike narratives, spiritual iconography and fantasy aesthetics, Gilbert creates immersive scenes where figures, creatures and environments merge into layered visual stories.
Alongside illustration, Gilbert has experience in 3D modelling, animation and visual development, having contributed to several collaborative short film projects during his studies. Through his multidisciplinary practice, he continues to explore the intersection of concept art, narrative world-building and digital illustration, sharing his distinctive visual universe with audiences around the world.
