Danilo Laynes is a Peruvian illustrator, designer, and art director whose work is rooted in the bold, expressive energy of Santa Cruz skateboard art and heavy metal album covers. That early passion for attitude-driven visuals evolved into a multidisciplinary career spanning illustration, animation, branding, digital collectibles, and the metaverse.
With more than a decade of experience, Danilo has collaborated with global clients including Marvel, Valve, Wizards of the Coast, VeeFriends, BAYC, Rovio, and The Nifty, where he now works as Lead Artist, developing digital worlds that connect artists and collectors. His practice blends technical craft with expressive design, producing work that is visually striking and built on strong narrative foundations.
Outside of client work, he is the creator of Maldito Poster, a project devoted to illustrated posters and flyers for the local rock and punk scene, a natural extension of his love for music and visual storytelling. He also teaches at Crehana and speaks at design events, sharing his knowledge with emerging creatives. Across all mediums, Danilo’s mission remains the same, to create art that resonates, inspires, and leaves a mark.
