Carilla Karahan is an award-winning graphic designer and illustrator based in Istanbul, Turkey. His work focuses on typography, illustration, and poster design. Carilla takes inspiration from everyday objects, aiming to pick out features that others would ordinarily miss. 

It’s safe to say that Carilla is pretty passionate about posters and he loves variation in his work, rejecting any notion of a cohesive style in his overall look and feel. Karahan’s love for posters was instigated while studying for his degree in graphic design. When creating his work, Carilla pulls from a wide pool of influence. He’s inspired by greats of graphics like Ikko Tanaka and Koichi Sato for their use of gradients and textures, and contemporary designers and illustrators like Bráulio Amado, Félicité Landrivon and Alexis Jamet, for their ability to push stylistic boundaries with their work.

The Turkish creative has picked up a wealth of experience by exhibiting his work across the globe, showcasing his art in Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Cyprus, Bolivia, Finland, Hungary, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, and Spain, leading to a whole host of industry recognition and awards.
