Aziz Maaqoul is a Moroccan visual artist and graduate of the Casablanca School of Fine Arts, working across a wide range of disciplines including illustration, concept art, matte painting, comic art, animation, and digital and traditional painting. His practice is rooted in strong technical foundations, supported by a deep understanding of form, composition, and human morphology.
Over the course of his career, Aziz has worked with communication and production companies as well as independently as a freelance artist. This breadth of experience has allowed him to move fluidly between commercial projects and personal work, developing a versatile visual language that balances narrative clarity with atmospheric depth.
Today, Aziz focuses primarily on traditional and digital painting, using both mediums to explore new visual languages and world-building approaches. Through Project 195, his work adds a layered and technically refined creative voice from Morocco, contributing to the project’s growing global archive of visual storytelling.
